App lock and privacy
App lock
Section titled “App lock”The app lock keeps your library from being opened without unlocking first.
-
Tap Settings › Security › Enable app lock.
-
Choose a PIN of 4 to 8 digits and enter it again to confirm.
-
Optionally turn on Settings › Security › Biometric unlock to unlock with your fingerprint or face instead of typing the PIN each time.
ComicDrive locks itself a few seconds after you leave the app, and asks for the PIN or your fingerprint or face when you come back. After several wrong PINs in a row you have to wait before trying again.
- Settings › Security › Change PIN sets a new PIN; you confirm the current one first.
- Settings › Security › Disable app lock removes the lock; again you confirm the current PIN.
ComicDrive has no way to recover a forgotten PIN, so choose one you will remember.
Removing a comic from the library does not hide it: removed comics are listed under Settings › Library › Removed comics. To keep your comics private, use the app lock.
What stays on your phone
Section titled “What stays on your phone”- No account. You never sign up for anything to use ComicDrive.
- No analytics, no crash reporting in the app. The app sends the developer nothing about how you use it. It keeps logs on the phone to help find faults; they leave it only if you attach them to feedback.
- No server of ours. ComicDrive connects to the sources you add yourself (your cloud storage through Android’s file picker, your network shares and your OPDS catalogs) and to Google Play, for the supporter offer and the rating dialog. Your library, reading progress and bookmarks stay on the phone, apart from the progress ComicDrive exchanges with a Komga or Kavita catalog you read from, Android’s backup and transfer, and backup files you create.
- Feedback is your choice. Settings › Send feedback lets you write a message and decide whether the app’s recent logs go with it; for a bug report the box for the logs starts ticked, and you can untick it. Your e-mail app then shows everything before you send it.
The full details are in the privacy policy of the app. This website has its own privacy policy.
