Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive
ComicDrive reaches your cloud storage through Android’s own file picker. You never give ComicDrive a cloud account or password: the provider’s app on your phone decides what ComicDrive may open.
A folder from the cloud
Section titled “A folder from the cloud”-
On the Start screen, tap the + button and choose Add local or cloud folder.
-
In Android’s folder picker, open the menu and switch to your cloud provider.
-
Choose the folder with your comics and confirm it.
ComicDrive reads the folder together with all its subfolders, so the top folder of your collection is enough. When you add comics to it later, rescan it as described in After you add or move comics.
Whether this works depends on the provider’s app. Google Drive offers folder access on most devices. If your provider does not show up in the folder picker, it only offers single files.
Providers without folders
Section titled “Providers without folders”OneDrive, for example, offers no folder selection at all. There are two ways around it:
- Open single files. Tap + and choose Open single comic file. Its picker shows OneDrive, Google Drive and other providers, and each comic is cached locally the first time you open it.
- Download to a folder on the phone. Use the provider’s own app to download your comics into a folder on the device, then add that folder with Add local or cloud folder. The whole collection then behaves like a local library.
Offline reading
Section titled “Offline reading”A comic from the cloud is copied to the phone the first time you open it. Cached copies open faster and stay readable without a connection; the original files stay in your cloud storage.
To see or remove the copies, open Settings › Storage & cache › Cached comic files.
